In 2011 our congregation launched the Peter Hill Fund through which we have helped many local families in need get through a sticky patch or two.
In 2018 we are supporting the YWCA Boys Quest program at Watt Public School. In 2016 we learned that Girlz Unplugged, an anti-bullying program at Watt Public School, might not continue due to funding constraints. Through the Peter Hill Fund, our congregation raised funds to enable 10 students to participate in this important program and in so doing helped the YWCA present a successful case to the Trillium Foundation to stabilize funding for Girlz Unplugged until 2020.
Launched in 2015, our Summer Artists in Residence Programme resulted from over 5 years of planning and strong community support through live auctions, Holy Crap Sales and bake sales. Designed to complement our services, inspire youth and intergenerational outreach and bring together the greater Windermere Community. Our first two years were so successful that this year in 2018 we are working on an expanded multigenerational summer program of music and camp activities.
